If you have a Windows mobile device, a smartphone or a pocket PC, then you are invited to give XNotes a try. XNotes allows you to to export/sync your Linux Notes address book with your mobile device.
The system requirements for running XNotes are: Lotus Notes 4.6 or above, Microsoft ActiveSync, Windows operating system (Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Mobile 2003/2003SE/5.0/6). The application does not need MS Outlook to work.
To get XNotes up and running you will have to go through a standard setup procedure: download a lightweight, less than 1MB in size installer; run the aforementioned installer; follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. The nice thing is that you’ll be done quickly and without putting too much effort into the process.
The XNotes interface features nice big buttons on the side, buttons that correspond to the steps you must go through to enjoy the functionality the application has to offer:
Step 1 – drag and drop your Lotus Notes shortcut onto the interface.
Step 2 – map Lotus Notes address book fields with your Windows device.
Step 3 – sync contacts to your Windows device. Please note that the application can only perform one way sync; it can only send contacts from Lotus Notes to your Windows device.
There is a 4th button on the XNotes interface. This button tells you that the XNotes trial will only sync 10 contacts among first 20 contacts. It also invites you to register and thus remove this trial limitation.
Choose which contacts to send from Lotus Notes to your Windows mobile device with the user friendly application XNotes.
